What’s the culture like at Chewy, and why should I apply?
We’re glad you asked! Learn more here or follow @LifeAtChewy on LinkedIn and Instagram for a behind-the-scenes look at what life here is really like.
What is the typical interview timeline? When can I expect a decision?
At Chewy, we aim to move with speed and intention. While the interview timeline can vary by team and role, we do our best to keep the process as efficient and streamlined as possible. If you're already engaged in the interview process, your recruiter will be the best resource to provide updates and guidance along the way.
What should I expect after applying?
Once you submit your application, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email. Our recruiting team carefully reviews each application, and candidates whose qualifications align with the role will be contacted by a recruiter to discuss the next steps. For roles with a high volume of applicants, response times may vary. If you are not selected to move forward, you will be notified once a decision has been made.
Are there any fully remote roles? What is the in-office policy?
Most of our roles require working on-site, whether fully in person or in a hybrid model. If a position is open to remote work, it will either be noted in the job title (“JOB TITLE – Remote”), or in the job description (“Open to Remote”).
What should I do if I don’t see a job on the career site that fits my skill set?
We invite you to join our Talent Community, which is a simple way to stay connected with us, even if you're not ready to apply or aren't sure which role is right for you. By joining, you'll receive personalized updates about job openings, hiring events, and what it’s like to work at Chewy.
I see the job I applied to is still open, but I wasn’t selected. Can I apply again?
If you've already applied to a role and were not selected to move forward, we kindly ask that you do not reapply to the same position. While the job may still appear open, your application has already been reviewed for that specific opening.
That said, we do keep candidate profiles on hand in case circumstances change or new opportunities arise that better align with your experience. We also encourage you to explore and apply to other open roles at Chewy that match your skills and interests.
Does Chewy offer visa sponsorship for roles?
Chewy offers visa sponsorship for select roles. We encourage you to apply for any roles for which you feel would be a good fit and our Talent Acquisition Team will guide you through the process accordingly.
Am I required to complete the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) questionnaire at the end of my application?
No, completing the WOTC questionnaire is entirely optional and is not required as part of your application to Chewy.
The WOTC is a federal program that provides employers with a tax credit for hiring individuals from certain target groups who may face barriers to employment. While we encourage applicants to complete the questionnaire if they feel comfortable doing so, choosing not to participate will not impact your application status or consideration for any position. Your responses, if provided, are confidential and used solely for federal reporting purposes.
How can I best prepare for an interview at Chewy?
Our Operating Principles are the foundation of Chewy’s culture and guide how we work together and make decisions every day. They are deeply embedded in our approach to hiring and play a key role throughout the interview process. As you prepare for your interview, we encourage you to reflect on how your experiences align with these principles—you can begin exploring them here.
To help you share your experiences clearly and effectively, we recommend using the STAR format when responding to interview questions. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result—this format helps you share your experience in a clear, structured, and impactful way.
How many rounds of interviews are in the typical process?
The number of interviews or the process length will vary depending on the department, scope, and level of the role. If selected to move forward, your recruiter will walk you through the interview specifics, including the format and expected duration.
Are interviews conducted virtually or onsite?
The interview format will depend on a number of factors, but don't worry, your recruiter will provide all relevant details at the appropriate time.
Will any of the interviews involve a case study or require me to share a portfolio of work?
For some roles, the interview process may include additional components such as case studies, assessments, or portfolio reviews. If this applies to your role, your recruiter will let you know and make sure you have the information you need to feel prepared.
What should I wear for my interview?
We want you to feel confident and comfortable while putting your best foot forward! For virtual interviews, business casual attire is a great choice. If you're visiting one of our locations for an in-person interview or hiring event, your recruiter will be happy to provide guidance on what to expect.
Does Chewy offer accessibility accommodations?
Absolutely. We’re committed to providing equal opportunities and inclusive experiences. If you need any accommodations, just reach out to us at CAAR@Chewy.com—we’re happy to help.
